The Defibtech VIEW trainer looks identical to a fully operational VIEW AED from the outside. It can be distinguished from the AED by its bright red exterior. The training electrodes and trainer battery are also red, making it easy to differentiate training components from AED components.

Qualities of the VIEW Trainer:

• Battery: The training battery can be charged using the adapter. It takes 12-14 hours to fully charge a completely empty battery. The trainer can then be used continuously for about 8 hours. A battery typically lasts for about 2 years or 200 charge/discharge cycles.
• LCD Screen: The VIEW trainer is equipped with an LCD screen. By default, it is set to video mode, where the AED trainer's prompts are visibly displayed during training scenarios. When set to ECG mode, a non-diagnostic display of the heart rhythm is shown.
• Remote Control: The remote control can operate four VIEW AED trainers simultaneously, greatly enhancing the convenience for the instructor. Each trainer is assigned a unique name (letter). The letters A-D are on the remote control, allowing the trainers to be controlled accordingly.

Training Scenarios:

The VIEW AED trainer has 6 pre-programmed training scenarios, which can be customized during training. Each scenario can be set as the default scenario. The Defibtech Lifeline VIEW trainer is initially set to training scenario 6. The scenarios are as follows (VF: ventricular fibrillation, NSR: normal sinus rhythm):

1. VF - shock - NSR - no shock
2. NSR - no shock (continuous)
3. Reapply electrodes - VF - shock - NSR - no shock
4. VF - shock - VF - shock - NSR - no shock
5. VF - shock (continuous)
6. Recommended default scenario for use with remote control. No electrodes applied (instructions provided) - after application, the instructor can manually select rhythm simulations with the remote control.
