The electrodes are clearly visible and accessible; they are pre-connected, ready to be attached directly to the patients exposed chest, saving valuable seconds. The electrodes for this defibrillator have a 3 year lifespan, which is recorded internally; when the electrodes are due to expire, the device will alert you that they need replacing. 

Special paediatric electrodes are required when using this device for child casualties, these electrodes scan be stored on the back of the defibrillator, ready for use if necessary and also come with a 2 year lifespan. When paediatric electrodes are connected, the energy level of the shock is adjusted to a lower level, more suitable for a child.

Various LED lights on the front of the defibrillator provide reassurance that your device is ready for use. If the status indicator on the right lights up green, then you can be assured that your device is ready for an emergency. If any of the lights on the left are lit, it means the device is in error and it needs immediate assistance. The user manual clearly shows what each warning light signifies, in most cases it is a low shelf-life on the battery or electrodes that may be expired.

The Defisign defibrillator is equipped with an internal battery that ensures proper timing of any deployment. This battery has a lifespan of about 6 years. The regular battery of the defibrillator has a lifespan of about 5-6 years (depending on usage). The defibrillator indicates via a service LED when the batteries need to be replaced.

Protection 

Due to its high resistance against dust and water contamination, the DefiSign LIFE can be placed inside or outside. Please note that a special outdoor cabinet is required if you wish to store the defibrillator outside.
